The Awamaki Lab crew took a trip to Patacancha and oh what a trip it was. The women of the Awamaki sewing co-op got a chance to meet the women from the weaving community of Patacancha (where the Awa Lab textiles are sourced) and unveiled their first order of skirts from season one. The response was more than positive, and it was an honor to witness the beginning of a hopefully long relationship between the sewing co-op and the talented weavers in Patacancha. We concluded the meeting with a pachamanca lunch, a traditional Peruvian celebratory meal that is cooked underground. Yes! This trip was such a perfect jumping off point to begin designing for season two.
