Awamaki Lab Season 2 is moving along smoothly and we are very excited to see the collection progress!

As this project is still in it’s infancy, we are fund raising hard in order to build the capital necessary to get the sewing cooperative off the ground ( for supplies, babysitting fees, monthly seamstress salaries, and professor pay) and to help give the women of Ollanta work that incorporates their traditional culture and gives them more financial independence.

To get to the point, on October 19th (which is today!) Global Giving, our main money supply platform, is giving away $100,000 in the form of matched funds to any and all projects featured on its site. This means any donation we receive will be matched by 30%, helping us reach our funding goals which will go towards financing the sewing co-operative and the capital needed to reproduce the Awamaki Lab season 2 collection  next year, which will provide the seamstresses with a stable source of income.

If you can help out in any way we would be so thankful! I am having an amazing time here in Peru and I can’t wait to show you the finished collection. I have been documenting the process on my blog too, if you want to take a peek. The link is on my website crescioni.net
